ROLES AVAILABLE - 30/10/24
Full-time OR part-time Baker/Chef
Full time is 38-42 hours, 5 shifts a week (Sun-Thurs)
We’re also open to this role being part-time, dependent on the applicant’s situation
Some flexibility required to cover holidays as and when needed
We are looking for an experienced, competent and reliable baker/chef to join our team. A can-do and positive attitude is a must. We are a small team of 4 – you will be working directly with the chef/owners and it is important you are happy to assist with washing dishes and clean down.
Your shifts will be split between 2 days baking solo (Sun/Mon) and 3 days working in the kitchen (Tues/Weds/Thurs) with the rest of the team. It’s important that you are happy and confident self-managing and working alone, as well as collaborating. You’ll be responsible for executing our current bakes to a high standard, but also shaping our offering and making it your own. We run a very organised kitchen and expect chefs to follow our systems of management, stock and portion control. This means our kitchen is a relaxed, enjoyable place to work.
We’re looking for someone who is both creatively driven and meticulously organised, who share our outlook on food. We believe baked goods should taste wholesome and not be too sweet, and that they should excite and even challenge. We take inspiration from a wide-range of sources, both for our savoury and sweet offerings.
Our baked goods focus on using British stoneground wholegrain flours (predominantly Landrace Milling), organic produce, and prioritise flavour above all else. We love using fresh, seasonal fruit and for our cakes to be visually beautiful, too.
Perks of the job include; no evenings and sociable hours (shifts finish 4pm and start at 730am at the earliest). Friday & Saturday off, every week. Staff food is different every day and uses the same amazing produce that is on our menu.
